"Writing is an important ritual that I must perform every day."

- Paulo Coelho

Rituals by Papeteria

At Papeterya, we believe that the act of written correspondence is a ritual in itself. Writing a letter and receiving one is a gift to the soul, and that's why we embarked on the Papeterya adventure in the first place.

To fully embrace the power of written correspondence, we recommend following these three simple steps: the writing part, the anticipation part, and the receiving part. Here is our suggested writing ritual:

Listen to our Playlist

Set the Scene

First, set the scene by creating an atmosphere that you love. Light candles or dim the lights, play your favorite music (click here for our carefully curated playlists), and choose a comfortable place to sit. Make yourself a drink and take out your favorite pen and stationery.

2

Listen to yourself

Next, set your intention. Take a deep breath, and think about the person you are writing to. Consider what you want to share with them, and choose the right size of stationery for your message.

3

"Let it go"

Now, it's time to start writing. You can write without thinking too much, letting your words flow like a journaling meditation. Alternatively, you can plan and have a specific message in mind. Often, the message arrives when we start writing.

4

Final Step

Once you've finished writing, it's time to send the letter. It's convenient to have stamps at home, so you can easily pop the letter in the next postal box. Sometimes we send the letter immediately, and other times it stays with us until we make it to the postal office. Either way is fine as long as we send it at some point. Don't get discouraged if you don't send it immediately. Trust the process, and know that the message will be delivered when the time is right.

Our recommendation is to write from the heart and let go of worries about what you should write or what the other person will think. The beauty of receiving a letter is that it is a surprise and will bring pure joy, no matter what. Trust that the recipient will be happy to receive your letter, and let the power of written correspondence work its magic.
